Day 125: 4 Months!!!

It is the second day of November, and you probably know by now that Brandon and I celebrate our anniversary on the first of each month.

Can you believe that yesterday we forgot? It's only four months into our marriage! Granted, it might be a bit ambitious to try to celebrate every single month marker for our entire first year, but shouldn't we at least acknowledge the day?

I guess we have truly fallen into our routine as husband and wife. The fact that Brandon is now my husband rather than my fiance or boyfriend doesn't shock me the way it used to.

I remember having just gotten home from our wedding weekend in Key West and not being able to call Brandon anything but "Husband." I would say things like, "Hey Husband, could you run out and get the mail real quick?" or "Oh, Husband, did you need me to pick up the dry cleaning today?" No longer did my husband have a name, or even a pet name - baby, sweetheart, hon or something of the sort. And I think he feared the habit would stick.

It did eventually wear off, though. I don't remember exactly when. There at the beginning, the term was so new and strange to me. And I think I had to say it over and over to remind myself it was real. Four months in, though, I don't think about it that much anymore. In fact, it kind of feels like it's always been this way, like we've always been husband and wife.

So I guess I kicked the habit of calling Brandon "Husband" when I fell into the very happy habit of being his wife.
